Personal Relationship Managers: Followup.cc

A few months ago, I wrote about my experiences with Ryze and Etch.ai. Both are considered Personal Relationship Manager applications. Since then Ryze has rolled out a number of improvements and redesigns to their mobile-only application. Etch.ai released their Chrome extension for Gmail. I was a little confused to see that approach, as I consider a PRM to be rather Contacts-centric, rather than Email-centric. It may have been the initial version which confused me. I’ve since learned about others taking this approach.

Namely, I learned about FollowUp.cc. Originally FollowUp provided follow-up-reminders for your emails and tasks. The new Personal CRM application builds on that. This Chrome extension provides a great blend between being Contacts-centric and Email-centric. You can add new contacts directly from the extension, or from an email. Contacts are automatically synchronized with Google Contacts. The only thing which baffled me has been the fact that “Contact Merges are not synced in either direction”. That restriction seems odd. I often have a few duplicate contact entries. If so, how do you resolve this situation?

As it integrates with Gmail, you can set Email Reminders, automatically add a sender to your contacts and log the interaction, etc.

I like that the application is web-based. I am not very good writing notes or emails on a small phone keyboard.

It is not clear to me if you have access to your data: can you export the data in case you desire to do so?

Pricing appears to be a little steep. The Professional plan is $19/month and the unlimited Executive plan is $29/month. For the casual networker, this is expensive.

I would love to see Markdown support for Notes, allowing you to easily write notes, yet it can be nicely rendered in the app.
